After a lifelong career as a neurologist in Texas, I traded the reflex hammer for a camera and the hospital for the cloud forest. Now based in Ecuador, I dedicate my days to photographing and studying one of nature’s greatest marvels — the hummingbird. Medicine taught me patience, precision, and respect for detail — qualities that guide my photography. I travel across the Americas in search of these dazzling creatures, each one a heartbeat of color and flight. Through my lectures, guided photo tours, and social media, I share their beauty and the importance of conserving their fragile habitats. My goal is simple: to inspire wonder and understanding. Each image I capture is a tribute to life in motion — a fusion of science, art, and devotion to the small beings that keep our forests alive.
